ROLE SUMMARY Provides 24-hour emergency on-call service response to assigned area. Conducts initial screenings for persons requesting or referred to emergency services. Provides individual and family with crisis intervention and case consultation services.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 1. The crisis intervention clinician will be responsible for 24/7 on call response to the Emergency Department, the Medical Floors, and the Behavioral Health Unit. 2. The clinician will coordinate his/her efforts with the on call psychiatrist and the consulting physician. 3. The clinician will respond to a requested consultation by the Emergency Department within a half hour. 4. The clinician will respond to other consultations as soon as feasible. 5. The clinician will track his/her efforts. 6. The clinician p articipates in appropriate professional development both through agency provided and independent means. 7. The clinician p articipates in scheduled staffing, care review, and other quality assurance activities and Employee will support shared governance and participate when appropriate.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
- Good communication skills with staff, cooperative attitude with peers and supervisor, as well as patients and physicians.
- Accepts feedback in opportunities to learn and grow.
- Able to obtain MANDT training within one month of hire.
- Masters Degree in social work, psychology or related field.
- Licensed or certified as appropriate for the services being provided.
- Two years experience in counseling, therapy, or assessment.
