DUTIES:
The incumbent will complete rotations within the facility, and to the clinics served by Cheyenne, and will rotate to the tertiary facility in Denver, Colorad! o. The incumbent will contribute to key projects, attend a var! iety of local and VISN 19 meetings, and participate in selected aspects of healthcare administration. The incumbent is encouraged to provide insight, analysis, and creative alternatives as a member of the executive team.

This is a temporary appointment with non-competitive eligibility for a permanent appointment upon meeting requirements.

The GHATP Program is a 12-month experience under the preceptorship of the Medical Center Director and is a part of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' Graduate Healthcare Administration Training Program (GHATP). The Cheyenne VAMC and Clinics serve approximately 20,000 rural and highly rural veterans in Southeastern Wyoming, Northern Colorado, and Western Nebraska. The medical center is a Level 2 facility, providing primary and secondary inpat! ient services in medicine and standard surgical procedures, with an authorization to provide intermediate level, orthopedic procedures, as well as outpatient services in medicine, surgery and psychiatry. A 40-bed Community Living Center is also located on the main campus. There are three Multi-Specialty Based Outpatient Clinics (MSOCs) in Fort Collins and Greeley, Colorado, as well as in Sidney, Nebraska. A Primary Care Telehealth Outreach Clinic (PCTOC) is located in Rawlins, Wyoming. Weekly service to four new communities was completed in 2010 as a result of the VAMC's Mobile Telehealth Clinic.

RELOCATION EXPENSES AND/OR INCENTIVES ARE NOT AUTHORIZED.

TOUR OF DUTY:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
GS-9 (Recent Graduates):
Graduated with a! MPH, MHA, MHSA, other Health Care Management/Administration degree
or

MBA, MPA with minimum two health care administration courses. Apply within two years of degree (or six years for preference eligible veterans precluded from applying due to military service).

All MBA and MPA candidates must have had coursework in health care administration to qualify.

To qualify, yours master's program must be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME), the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA), the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), or the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). Note:
Veterans with military obligations begin their two-year eligibility period upon release or discharge from active duty. Eligiblility for these veterans cannot exceed six (6) years from the date on which they completed their Master's Degree.

Physical requirements:
The work is primary sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required.

Work environment:
Work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate controlled office. Requires travel to three HSM Core Sessions and the American College of Healthcare Executive Congress, as well as additional occasional travel.
