The Veterans Administration Medical Center in Sheridan, Wyoming is seeking full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitio! ner.
This Nurse Practitioner will be an independent care provider, highly skilled in the management of patients’ mental health needs or subspecialty evaluation and treatment of PTSD and Addictive Disorders.
She/he will carry an outpatient clinical workload along with assigned administrative and professional responsibilities; coordinate patient care between Behavioral Health and Primary Care; conducts history, physical exams and mental status exams on assigned patients; completes intake assessments and formulates diagnosis; and develops and presents treatment plans to the multidisciplinary treatment team. Orders all necessary laboratory and radiological assessments; initiates consults, referrals, psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy as indicated; and maintains effective and up to date documentation of patient encounters.
Prefer candidates with excellent interpersonal and clinical skills for providing primary mental health care to veteran patients. P! ractice evidence-based medicine in a high-tech environment wit! hout the hassles of high malpractice premiums and associated overhead costs.
Typical workweek is 40 hours, Monday â€" Friday.
