Duties and responsibilities
- Act as a testing representative for Sterility testing in Microbiology Laboratory.
- Direct responsible for microbiological sample receiving/ labeling/ preparation/ sampling/ test/ counting/ checking and recording of data analysis on finished products, stability test samples, and any other test requisitions as directed by the superior.
- Indirect responsible for laboratory equipment performance, i.e scheduling and execution of equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Responsible for the compilation and preparation of test results/ reports related to laboratory testing.
- Supporting the superior in ensuring continuous test operation, good performance, maintenance and housekeeping of laboratory equipment and facilities.
- Supporting the superior in achieving objectives/ targets outlined by the Head of the Department.
- Direct responsible for Sterility testing.
- To organize and conduct various microbiological analyses adhering to approved test methods/specifications/ procedures, equipment operating instructions and guidelines for the superior, in ensuring the availability of test operation at his/her time of duty.
- To check on test results for compliance to the methods/ specification/ procedures, equipment operating instructions and guidelines for the superior.
- To perform release/ reject in the computer system of incoming starting materials and/ or finished goods after the verification/ approval of the Microbiologist or designate.
- To plan and perform cleaning/ maintenance/ verification/ calibration of test equipment and facilities of his/ her area of responsibility as scheduled in the maintenance/ calibration record.
- To coordinate the purchase of media, reagents and other types of consumables and to ensure availability in inventory.
- To maintain good housekeeping of his/ her working stations and laboratory facilities.
- To coordinate and sourcing and repair laboratory test equipment.
- To support the superior in the preparation of test methods/specifications/ procedures and equipment operating instructions.
- To participate in process and test methods/ specification/ procedures and equipment operating instructions.
- To act as calibration representative in his/ her area of responsibility.
- To coordinate the purchase of media, reagents and other types of consumables and to ensure the availability of inventory.
- To maintain good housekeeping of his workstation and laboratory facilities.
- To ensure timely submission/ release of test results/ reports.
- The job function listed is not exhaustive and shall also include any responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.
Professional competencies
- Diploma in Biology or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in laboratory operation (quality control).
- Knowledge of GMP (PICs & cGMP)
- ISO 9000
