Job Description

Peak Team Detox Technician

ROLE SUMMARY

The Detox Technician will be responsible for providing professional and effective assistance to chemically dependent clients associated with the Transitions Complex. Your immediate staff family will include a program coordinator, primary therapist or on-call staff as needed. Maintain case records and documentation in accordance with PWC policies and procedures. Coordinate facility operations daily with other staff and supervisor.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Insure life safety and medical safety for Detox and Transitions clients.
  • Provide individual detoxification/counseling to all intoxicated clients referred to the ARC.
  • Provide non-medical monitoring of each intoxicated client as prescribed in the ARC policies and procedures.
  • Complete all required documentation of a client's detoxification progress.
  • Assure that all clerical components are complete and legible, e. intake procedures, progress notes, Antabuse records, all logbooks, time sheets, etc.
  • Monitor resident's sign-out folder. Conduct room checks twice per night at irregular intervals. Conduct Transitions Residential Program (TRP) night room checks hourly, on a random time basis, and document findings in clients' folders. Monitor TRP residents whenever TRP clinical staff are not on duty and conduct random walk throuhgs when there are no detox clients. Document any unusual events in TRP logbook.
  • Assure complete monitoring of ARC and TRP Residents' medications following the medical policies and procedures.
  • Assure that the structured Antabuse Program is monitored as prescribed for clients.
  • Provide crisis prevention activities, as needed for ARC and TRP clients until the Director or Treatment Coordinator of that program can be notified. Follow instructions as they are given for continued client care

Degree Requirements:

High School degree or GED

Experience:

Experience in rehabilitation or work with seriously mentally ill preferred. Experience in a residential setting and/or crisis management helpful.

  • Proficient with MS Office, Outlook and Internet Explorer

  • Must be willing to submit to random drug and alcohol testing
  • Proficient with standard office equipment

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma
  • Prior experience working seriously mentally ill or experience in rehabilitation
  • Must have reliable transportation

Salary: $13-$15 p/h
